Time Jumps And Ridiculous Pairings: Riverdale S7 Trailer Goes Full Insane Mode
You'll never guess who's getting married without ever leaving High School on the final season of Riverdale.
Riverdale has been quite a controversial show starting from season 2, when things gradually became weirder and weirder.
Some viewers were always on board with all sorts of crazy things and storylines writers came up with, while others preferred a more realistic representation of teenagehood.
Either way, those who stuck by Riverdale for all 6 seasons were very excited to see the first trailer of the last season drop.
From the very first shots, the viewer is introduced to a whole new vintage aesthetic. Then we hear Cole Sprouse (Jughead) confirm: "The year is 1995."
Moreover, it seems like Jughead is the only one who remembers his previous life in another universe. A dynamic montage shows all fan-favorite characters in their new (or rather old) role.
Some don't change much, while others, like Veronica Lodge, get the coolest hat and a whole new life as a Hollywood superstar as a bonus.
All that sounds like just enough to get very confused but the crew decided to go all out and include the most ridiculous pairings.
If you know an Archie/Cheryl shipper, send them our congratulations, because it seems like in this universe the couple is getting married. What about Betty? Well, she doesn't waste her time and tries to seduce Kevin at a school dance.
Of course, such a trailer caused an overwhelming reaction within the fanbase.
Some fans are ready to accept all kinds of nonsense at this point, saying that "the writers have already messed the show up a little too much", so there's no point in waiting for some logical explanations.
Others were hoping to see a nice closure for the character stories, an ending that includes the memory of all the trauma they had to come through.
"It just feels like avoidance because they really DON'T know how they want to end the show in regards to plot or endgames," Reddit user goldlion84 said, being one of many who points that out.
It looks like whatever the ending of Riverdale will look like, fans are ready to finally see it. New episodes are set to come out on March, 29th, and will be free to stream the next day exclusively on The CW.
