This Star Wars Meme Solves One of the Prequels' Biggest Dilemmas
Fans point out that the story could have been very different if Anakin had taken this seemingly obvious route.
The Star Wars prequel trilogy is a controversial topic. Some love it, some hate it, but there is always room for fan theories that often go hand in hand with memes and jokes about the movies' plot.
One such meme appeared on Reddit, giving a humorous take on the question "Why didn't Anakin just leave the Jedi Order to take care of his wife?"
Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005) shows viewers how the noble Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker ended up becoming the infamous Sith Lord Darth Vader.
One of the ways such a tragic turn of events could possibly have been avoided is if Anakin had chosen to leave the life of the Jedi and simply moved to a far corner of the galaxy with his pregnant wife Padme.
We know that the mere thought of this may seem outrageous, but hear us out. There are a handful of Jedi who have left the Order for a more peaceful life, without any interference from the Council.
The most famous example is Ahsoka Tano. After being falsely accused of murder in episode 18 of the fifth season of The Clone Wars, she had to evade prosecution in order to prove her innocence.
After successfully doing so, Ahsoka loses her faith in the Jedi way and leaves the Order.
Another great example is Count Dooku. After becoming embroiled in the politics of his homeworld of Serenno and reclaiming the title of Count, he decided to leave the Order, feeling it was his responsibility to lead his people.
Though he later fell to the Dark Side of the Force and became an apprentice to Darth Sidious, his initial departure from the Jedi was with good intentions, and this decision was respected by the Council.

Some fans of the Legends canon may also remember Jolee Bindo from the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic video game, a Jedi who lost faith in the wisdom of the Council and went into self-exile, developing his own unique philosophy that defied the division of the Force into light and dark, claiming that he "only saw in gray."
Of course, the idea of Anakin leaving the Order is much more complicated, but as this meme shows, leaving the Order was still one of the options he could have chosen.
