This General Hospital Couple Should Have Been Endgame, But Writers Ruined It All

Fans of General Hospital love the show for many reasons. The good old fashioned soap opera has all the strengths of the genre. It has lots of characters, plot twists that you can only imagine, and a narrative that is always fascinating. So the success of the show is not really a surprise.
For more than 60 years, General Hospital has brought both joy and drama to every fan's home. But sometimes it's easy to lose some of your regular viewers because of an unpopular storyline change.
For example, it's a known fact that sometimes fans stop watching a long-running show after a game-changing event, like... a favorite couple's breakup.
Jason Morgan and Sam McCall were first introduced on the show in 2004. And since then their slow-burning relationship began. They were on screen for three time periods, with the last one being from 2017 to 2021. And for all those years, they were considered one of the show's greatest supercouples.
So when the writers broke them up in the show, the fans were actually devastated.
“I need Jason and Sam back together. They belong together. I hate even watching the show because they are not together,” Redditor harleygirl1214 said.
Little did they know back then they were in for another surprise that was even worse. Yes, we are talking about Jason being killed off. The narrative suggests that he died after a tunnel collapsed on him while he was trying to save his brother.
But even that doesn’t stop fans from dreaming about their favorite couple being together on screen again.
“They never turned up an actual body, so he could return. JaSam was good back in the day, but their last time around neither actor felt invested in their characters and it showed in their scenes, at least to me. The 'magic' was gone. Who knows what will happen though,” Redditor junknowho said.
While we are waiting for that to happen, some other fans just recommend searching for some JaSam videos on YouTube to bring back those fond memories.
