Having kids is not a personality trait.

It's no secret that any soap opera survives on television for so long because of its very creative, original, and sometimes downright crazy storylines. With a large cast of characters that rotate from episode to episode, shows like General Hospital keep viewers interested and stay relevant for up to 60 years.

Lately, however, fans of medical dramas have found themselves getting bored with a lot of what's going on on their screens. With main characters that have been the same for 30 years or so, it's getting harder and harder for writers to be creative.

Secondary characters are no better: their storylines also become repetitive, alternating between amnesia and terminal illness with about a 50% of success rate for either one.

One character's fate in particular has fans frowning in disappointment. Elizabeth Baldwin, who was once part of a super couple with Lucky Spencer, has been completely sidetracked by motherhood.

Although there are characters with much younger children who still get their fair share of fun and soapy storylines, like Sam, Elizabeth just doesn't get any of it. Many feel it's time to shake things up.

Since so many people are perfectly fine with General Hospital's storylines making no sense, the writers have absolutely no reason not to at least add something to make Liz's life a little more exciting to watch.

Of course, not everyone was a fan of the Jason Doe storyline, but looking back on it now, it was much more fitting for the soap than anything the show has to offer today.

At this point, it all feels like the charm that surrounded Liz and Lucky's young love story is finally gone, fans have lost all hope for a reconciliation, and no one knows what to do with Elizabeth moving forward.

Hopefully, the writers will at least find a way to explore the character before she is forgotten or even written off.

To see what awaits Elizabeth in the future, tune in to ABC Monday through Friday to not miss another episode of General Hospital.
