Less Carly energy, and more Selina Wu, please!

It's sad to admit, but there aren't that many storylines on General Hospital that get viewers excited anymore. But when they do, it's more of a miracle than anyone could have imagined.

What's interesting is that the current audience seems to be much more interested in newer characters than the ones they've known for a long time.

Either it is the bad writing that makes the bond formed over the years suddenly thin, or the newcomers are just more interesting at times.

One of the characters that definitely grabs the viewer's attention every time she hits the screen is Selina Wu. Portrayed by Lydia Look, Selina has a strong vibe of the perfect femme fatale character that you want to root for.

She's strong, she's independent, she knows what she's doing, and she's extremely scary at times.

The best thing that sets Wu apart from a lot of the other characters we've seen on General Hospital is that she's not necessarily just motivated by her emotions or the pure evil in her heart.

Selina Wu is first and foremost a businesswoman. She's strategic and practical in what she does, and that makes her even more powerful.

Given the nature of General Hospital, it is still very likely that viewers will see more of Selina's passionate and emotionally-driven side, but for now, the audience is enjoying her calm presence.

One thing that could easily ruin the character would be any kind of romantic involvement with Sonny, so fans are just praying that Wu stays out of it.

Intrigued by the character's nature and amazed by the amazing performance of Lydia Looks, who gives viewers chills with just an ominous undertone in her voice, viewers believe this is exactly what General Hospital has been missing for so long.

Not another tear-jerking drama, but a story and character that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Now the hope is that the writers will continue with Selina Wu in the same strong way they started.

If you want to join in and see what turns her arc would take, you can tune in to ABC Monday through Friday to catch up on new General Hospital episodes.
