The upcoming movie is backed by a very famous actress’s producing company.

Summary:

  • The new horror film produced by A24 and Emma Stone ’s producing company Fruit Tree, doesn’t hit cinemas until May 3, but has already demonstrated impressive results among critics.
  • The plot follows two teenagers obsessed with a TV show that they watch together, but after the show is unexpectedly canceled the characters face some reality blurs.

The new horror I Saw the TV Glow is not coming to the audience until May 3, but has already caught a lot of attention starting from its premiere at Sundance Film Festival this year and finishing with the support from the famous A24 studio and, what comes for many as a surprise, Emma Stone’s producing company called Fruit Tree.

I Saw the TV Glow has a very unusual, yet relevant for many of us plot: two teenagers, Owen and Maddie, get united by their love for a TV series the fans of which they became a few years ago. After the streaming service suddenly refuses to renew the show for another season, strange things start occurring to Owen and Maddie forcing them to go on a road trip.

Throughout the adventure, the characters will constantly question the reality of what is happening. Thus, what began as an innocent fanaticism on a popular TV series, will grow into something that can completely change their lives and expose them to the risk of becoming victims of terrible events.

Even though the movie is more than a month away from being released worldwide, already now it looks impressive for those who are impatiently waiting for the watch — with 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, it seems like a pretty much promising start for the film’s writer and director Jane Schoenbrun.

The fact that the upcoming horror is backed by Emma Stone’s company that she runs with her husband Dave McCary also gives credit to the actress’s excellent taste for films with average budget, but yet with a very well elaborated plot.

Emma Stone Goes All In

Though the company, founded back in 2020, has been relatively new in the producing business, it has already established steady collaborative relationships with A24 having produced not only I Saw the TV Glow, but also a surrealist comedy Problemista that stars Tilda Swinton and a drama When You Finish Saving The World with Julianne Moore and Finn Wolfhard in the leading roles.

For now, it seems like Emma Stone’s Fruit Tree is currently cementing its high-level position in the cinema industry — and I Saw the TV Glow may prove it once again soon.
