These Euphoria Storylines Were Dropped by the Showrunners For No Reason At All
Euphoria seems to focus solely on Rue, and while her fans rejoice, people who actually care about other characters get really upset.
In Euphoria Season 2, too many storylines from the first season, as well as new arcs, were frustratingly dropped or ended up so underdeveloped that fans are already worried about Season 3.
Here are the storylines that fans felt were given the least justice in Euphoria.
McKay's Assault
McKay only appeared in the first season of Euphoria, where he and Cassie Howard started a relationship that, despite some strange details, seemed to be a mostly innocent and rather romantic thing.
Wild Fan Theories Suggest Euphoria's Nate is Actually Gay
However, what began as a story about a young man starting a relationship and pursuing a football career ended with him being assaulted (possibly raped) in his dorm... and we never heard from him again. He never appeared in Season 2 and his story was basically left unresolved.
Jules' Sex Addiction
Season 2 saw Rue and Jules go through a lot of problems as their relationship moved away from being strictly monogamous and they had fun with a new character, Elliot. We also learned that Jules had a sex addiction – and that's about it, no further information on that and no resolution whatsoever.
From season 2 onwards, Rue seems to have moved on from Jules, but there doesn't seem to be any bad blood between the two characters – although at one point in the season, Rue was really angry at Jules for telling Rue's mother about her relapse.
Ash Being Killed Off
Fez's "brother" Ash was killed off too soon, many fans feel. They feel there was so much more to explore about this traumatised teenager. However, as we never saw the moment of his death (thankfully) or a body (even more thankfully), there is a chance that Ash could return in Season 3... a very, very slim chance.
Cassie's Abortion
In Euphoria, some really big things tend to be swept under the rug. Just as we never really got to see how McKay's assault affected him, Cassie's abortion did not seem to have any particular consequences for her character – at least not directly.
While fans seem to understand why the show chose to avoid the controversy, exploring the aftermath of her abortion would have made Euphoria much more complex and interesting to watch.
