There's Still a Way Young Sheldon Can Survive Beyond Season 7
There has been speculation as to whether Young Sheldon can move past certain impending events and live to see another season. Good news: it can! Well, probably.
Young Sheldon is nearing the end of season 6, with only season 7 confirmed. We have already shared evidence of why this might be it for the show, but what if there was a way to carry on?
Montana Jordan, who plays Georgie, has recently celebrated his 20th birthday, and his Young Sheldon co-star and on-screen sister Raegan Revord has shared a few of their photos on her Instagram page to wish her TV brother a happy birthday.
One of them is a throwback to one of the early seasons. Don't they look just the cutest? This picture reminds us all how much the characters have grown (which is both a blessing and a curse).
Missy and Georgie's character development, spanned across six seasons, is more than evident – they are no longer just Sheldon's siblings.
Fans are interested in what is going on with them separately, so they may be the key to the show's life after season 7.
Once Sheldon leaves his hometown and his father inevitably passes away, Georgie and Missy are more than capable of carrying the show on their own – they have become fan favorites over the years.
With them taking center stage and Mary and Meemaw as supporting characters, the TBBT prequel would have a chance to become a family comedy in the best tradition of sitcoms.
We could also see the aftermath of George's death and how everyone deals with it. Although controversial, season 6 has turned out to be one of the most interesting yet.
Georgie has a new character arc as a teenage father, and Missy has all that built-up resentment over being sidelined, which could provide an interesting angle for the show.
Arguably, these characters have begun to outshine Sheldon in terms of being compelling to watch. Does that mean we might even have season 8?
It is not unlikely. If CBS takes a hint and strategizes wisely for season 7, the show could have that smooth transition of focus from Sheldon to Missy and/or Georgie. Fingers crossed!
