The Worst Things Sam and Dean Have Done on Supernatural, According to Reddit
Main characters are not always heroes, especially on Supernatural.
Sam and Dean Winchester may be the good guys, but that doesn't mean they always acted nicely. Over the course of 15 seasons of Supernatural, the two brothers have committed plenty of deplorable things — and Reddit appears to remember pretty much every single one of them.
Reddit fans have recalled some of the worst acts Dean and Same have ever done — and some of them make it really hard to keep in mind that they are still the protagonists. Ready for some dark flashbacks?
Amy the Kitsune
In season 7, Sam hunted down Amy — a kitsune who couldn't help but kill. However, it was Dean who settled the matter, arriving to Amy's house and, deaf to her pleas, killing her even though she swore to never murder anyone again.
The Walking Dead Star You Totally Forgot Was on Supernatural
But this isn't even the worst part. What makes the situation even darker is that Amy's son was there to watch: and Dean, showing little remorse, chose to threaten the kid if he would follow his mother's footsteps. It was only fair for the child to swear to kill Dean some day.
"I really wish her kid came back in the later season, kinda [...] wasted what could have been an awesome side story," Reddit user Jaybrower5656 said.
Sam Killing the Nurse
Sam has also been up to some things he probably isn't proud. One of the moments fans hate the most was when the younger Winchester had to kill a possessed nurse in season 4 — with the understandable reasoning, but in a really gruesome way.
"I know she was possessed, but how Sam drove that car with the demon in remission and the scared human crying for help is beyond me," Redditor lionne6 noted.
The Gadreel Drama
It was Dean who tricked Sam into letting angel Gadreel inside to cure him, but the way Dean was upset with Sam being "rightfully pissed' about that just drives fans insane.
Moreover, Dean even went as far as to kick Castiel out of the bunker because of Gadreel — a scene that remains hard for many fans to rewatch up until these days.
Sam Not Searching For Dean in Season 8
Season 8 was definitely not the best one for Sam. Not only did he never look for Dean, who was stuck in the Purgatory, but he also abandoned Kevin — a prophet who was kidnapped by Crowley.
In fact, many fans believed that this was seriously out of character for Sam, especially when he never seemed to feel relieved for his brother to finally be back. However, the Dean part is clearly not the worst one.
"Unlike Dean who is at least familiar with the supernatural and able to hold his own against supernatural threats, Kevin was an innocent kid who as far as Sam knew was unable/unlikely to fight back. Obviously he doesn't have any familial obligation to Kevin, but it just made him look like a massive jerk for ignoring Kevin's pleas for help when he knew he was the only one Kevin knew to reach out to," Reddit user Garlicknottodaysatan argued.
If you think about it, the Winchester brothers were never really known for being overly caring about other people, always putting each other first. Even when the apocalypse was just around the corner, the two were likely to sacrifice everyone on Earth just for the sake of saving the brother — something that many fans don't see as very heroic.
