Each new piece of news from The Witcher's set keeps exterminating the hope that the showrunner would suddenly invite Cavill back to play the iconic character.

We have to confess: despite all the drama and the fact that Henry Cavill 's exit from The Witcher was announced ages ago, we still had the tiniest fracture of hope that the winds would change and the one and only would reprise his role. But each new piece of news from the set keeps adding nails to our hope's sad little coffin.

This time around, we're bringing the news that the new Geralt of Rivia, Liam Hemsworth, has already put on the Witcher's essentials.

Rumor has it, he looks great in his white wig and those golden lenses. The rumor actually has a name, too: it's Tomek Baginski, the producer of the show.

"One thing I can tell is I've already seen [Liam] in the Witcher makeup and in the Witcher look, and he looks awesome," Baginski told Express Online.

Awesome or not, the clothing for the new Geralt is definitely going to be different than it was: Hemsworth and Cavill have really different frames. This would mean, since the team would've had to create a new set of costumes specifically for Liam, that the new Witcher is really all set and ready to go. Baginski confirms that.

"The next stage will be Liam Hemsworth in this role, and he will be given space, he will be given his voice. He has to discover this character for himself. And, for me, it is crazily exciting. <...> It will be a great discovery to do it again," shared the show's producer.

Tomek Baginski's revelations may have caused you to hear certain high-pitched screeches, but have no worries: it was the sound of our hopes finally dwindling into nothing. If Liam Hemsworth has already put on the make-up and the clothes, and the production team is excited about his arrival, maybe it's time to accept the reality.

On a completely unrelated note, the filming of The Witcher's S4 won't be able to continue until the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike since Liam Hemsworth is an American actor and can't go against the strike's rules. Henry Cavill, on the other hand, is a British actor, so he could definitely speed up the process quite a lot…

Alright, we'll cut it.
