The Walking Dead's Andrew Lincoln MUST Join MCU: Fans Already Have a Role for Him
Andrew Lincoln is British, so any guesses on which character he should play?
You've probably heard of Andrew Lincoln, the actor mostly known for his iconic role in The Walking Dead. A lot of people think he doesn't get the credit he deserves as an actor, especially among the die-hard Walking Dead fans, because that is the project he was able to show his max potential.
Some fans are convinced that Andrew Lincoln should be working with big-name directors like Martin Scorsese or Christopher Nolan. But, there are those who think he needs to make a splash with a blockbuster movie, and they're rooting for him to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The cool thing is that quite a few actors from The Walking Dead have made their way into the MCU. The big ones you might recognize are Danai Gurira, who portrayed Okoye, and Steven Yeun, who is set to appear in the upcoming Thunderbolts film.
So, it’s no wonder people want to see Lincoln in the franchise too. Adding more fuel to the excitement, there was a 2022 report from Giant Freakin Robot suggesting that Lincoln was in serious talks to join the MCU, though the specifics on his role remained unknown.
That information was never officially confirmed, and honestly, it should be taken with a grain of salt. But if Andrew Lincoln does join the MCU, what would be the perfect role for him?
Well, based on a Reddit discussion, there are a few options, with one of them being especially appealing. Some fans picture Lincoln as Reed Richards, and he could really nail it. However, since his name didn't pop up in all those countless rumors about the role, it's probably a long shot.
He was mostly fan-cast as the iconic Captain Britain. This British superhero is seen as a potential new face in the MCU, standing as the UK's counterpart to Captain America.
A talented fan, Lucas J Schultz, even shared a hand-drawn pic on X (formerly Twitter), envisioning Lincoln as Captain Britain.
Even though Lincoln can do the American accent so well that some Walking Dead fans don't even realize he's English, it would be a win-win for everyone if the actor took on the role of Captain Britain.
