Fans of the hit show Vikings: Valhalla almost done waiting for the release of season 2, set to hit Netflix on January 12. But while they eagerly anticipate the bloody battles and ruthless characters of the show, one actress almost brought those violent scenes to life in a real-life hospital.

Frida Gustavsson, who plays Freydís Eiríksdóttir, one of the show's most notorious female warriors, suffered a fracture on set while filming a battle scene. In an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Gustavsson explained that she was strangling a 6'7" actor with her bracelet when she slipped and he landed on her elbow.

To make matters even more intense, the incident occurred during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, so no one from the Vikings: Valhalla crew could accompany Gustavsson to the ER.

Instead, she walked in alone, still dressed in her full Freydís costume, covered in fake blood and armor. "The people at the hospital are like, 'What is going on?'" Gustavsson recalled with a laugh.

But despite the somewhat harrowing experience, Gustavsson received treatment and was released soon after, ready to continue her reign of terror as Freydís Eiríksdóttir in season 2. And fans of the show couldn't be more excited to see the actress back in action.

"I can't wait to see what Freydís does next," said one fan on social media. "She's always been one of my favorite characters, and I have a feeling season 2 is going to be even more intense than the first."

Another fan added, "I just hope Frida stays safe on set! We don't want to lose one of the best actresses on the show."

It looks like Vikings: Valhalla is set to be even more action-packed and thrilling in season 2, premiering January 12, and fans can't wait to see what the cast has in store for them. Just be warned – if you happen to run into Frida Gustavsson in an ER dressed as Freydís, you might want to turn and run the other way. Just a thought.
