The Umbrella Academy is taking its time with season 4, and we are glad it is – perhaps the creators can still escape the trap that they set up for themselves in the previous season.

The way season 3 ended left us all wondering and longing for answers. Why is Abigail alive and well? Why are Ray and Claire back and in the same timeline?

Why have the Umbrellas lost their powers? These are just three questions off the top of our heads.

Another enigma is Sloane's disappearance from the elevator. It makes sense that she would disappear if the timeline was finally fixed, but the writers' next steps about it are what counts and what worries us all.

Sloane has proven to be more than capable of getting herself out of tough situations, and we would truly hate to see the show turn her into a victim just waiting for Luther to come along and rescue her.

Luther is clearly determined to get his wife back, so he sets out to find Sloane. Remind you of any other prominent quest, maybe the one Star-Lord takes on after Gamora disappears?

We love Guardians of the Galaxy as much as the next guy, but the move to give us Gamora 2.0 was wrong and should be condemned.

Marvel replaced the Gamora who fell in love with Peter with the identical Gamora who didn't and expected us to be OK with it.

Right, that's exactly what we needed – another strong female lead turned into a mere plot device for a male character's arc. Sorry, we know it was years ago, but we're still pissed.

Anyway, Sloane has a lot in common with Gamora. She is also powerful, independent, and interesting (even without being in love with Luther), and she is missing due to the resetting of the universe.

If The Umbrella Academy 's season 4 made Luther find an alternate Sloane and leave her be with the rest of the Hargreeves further, it would be a weak (and, frankly, sexist) choice for both characters and a disappointment for the audience.

Say it with us, "Female characters are not replaceable or interchangeable." Louder for the people in the back.
