'The Umbrella Academy' MCR Easter Egg Teased Sloane's Fate In Season 3
The Sparrow academy's most empathetic member is currently in an unknown location, with Luther on a mission to find her.
Sloane Hargreeves, one of the two Sparrow academy survivors in 'The Umbrella Academy ' season 3, might as well be dead or in grave danger as of the season finale. And it turns out that the season might have been hinting at her complicated fate from the very beginning – through… My Chemical Romance reference.
It would be weird if the show created by Gerard Way, the band's frontman, was not stuffed with references and Easter eggs. This time, it was about a book titled 'Jetset Life' that Sloane carried with her from the first episode of the season. Fans immediately ruled that the book title is a reference to one of My Chemical Romance songs, 'The Jetset Life is Gonna Kill You'.
Given that Sloane mysteriously disappeared right after yet another universe reset triggered by the chaotic family, there is a strong chance that Luther's new love might actually be dead – if the music reference was indeed hinting at her fate.
However, there is still hope – for us and for Luther – that the book title was just a nod to the creator's band and not an actual foreshadowing. After all, we never saw her body, and the search for Sloane is clearly a goal for Luther for the upcoming season 4 should it be greenlit by Netflix.
As of now, it's unclear whether 'The Umbrella Academy' will go forward, with Netflix remaining tight-lipped about the show's future. Having scored 301.85 million hours viewed, the third season has still performed way worse than its predecessor – mainly due to stiff competition from other popular Netflix shows (you know the one we're talking about).
