The Soap Between General Hospital's Rena Sofer And Wally Kurth Stays On Screen Only

The acting industry is actually a very small circle that breaks down into even smaller circles depending on what you work on. Though the line between movie actors and those in mainstream TV dramas is slowly disappearing, daytime actors are usually considered a separate category.

And just like any other profession, there is a high chance of workplace romance. The only difference is that when things get rough behind the curtains, you have to put on your best face and make sure no one sees through it. Because even if you break up off-screen, you never know what comeback might be in store later on.

Wally Kurth, who portrays Ned Quartermaine, aka Eddie Maine, on the iconic ABC soap General Hospital, never thought he'd be reunited with his former co-star and ex-wife Rena Sofer. The couple worked together on the show in the '90s, got married in 1995, and split only a couple years later in 1997.

Now, in the year 2023, in celebration of General Hospital's 60th anniversary, the couple was brought back to the screen. One could imagine the tension, but according to Kurth himself, everything is going as well as it can. He opened up about the experience in an interview with Soap Opera Digest.

“We just started and so far, so good! <...> It looked to me like Rena just fell right back into it and she seemed pretty happy about it, so I was happy for her. She puts on the nails and she becomes Lois, and she just starts talking and she becomes Lois,” the actor shared.

So if you are looking for drama, you will have to wait a little longer and watch the episodes released on ABC. No matter what twists and turns the story takes, the actors behind the iconic characters know better than to take the soap home.

General Hospital promises that Lois and Eddie's reunion will be everything die-hard fans have ever dreamed of, so keep an eye out to make sure you don't miss an episode!
