And the fans are here for it.

Summary:

  • Though Matt Reeves’ Batman Part II is not coming to theaters any time soon, fans keep plotting more theories — this time thanks to one particular scene that appeared in The Penguin ’s trailer.
  • The upcoming show, the plot of which revolves around the story of Batman’s essential enemy, demonstrated the character’s meeting with another famous antagonist.
  • The fact that Batman’s another rival appears in the show may also imply that he will have his moment in Batman Part II.

Matt Reeves’ Batman Part II is still quite far from getting its release and the DC’s co-head James Gunn has recently been shutting down different casting rumors trying to keep the plot details wrapped. Despite all this, the new trailer for DC's other upcoming and exciting project may have given a sneak peek to one more character’s appearance in Robert Pattinson ’s movie.

The new trailer for The Penguin, a limited series based on the DC’s main supervillain’s story starring Colin Farrell, came out several days ago and fans were quick to catch a new, but also familiar face whose appearance would also make total sense in Matt Reeves’ Batman.

In the trailer, one of the scenes depicts Farrell’s Penguin sitting in front of famous crime boss Salvatore Maroni, this time played by Clancy Brown, who eventually got imprisoned. The character doesn’t appear for more than a couple of seconds, but nonetheless his look explicitly tells the viewers that something is being plotted up.

The fans have also found one more connection between Maroni and Pattinson’s Batman — the criminal’s name emerged several times during the first film and even appeared in one of newspapers’ screaming titles supposedly saying that Maroni failed and now heads to jail.

And even though many are now expecting the villain to make his come-back in Batman Part II as well, it doesn’t really matter at this point whether he appears in the Reeves’ next movie or not.

The biggest twist here is that his appearance makes perfect sense for Colin Farrell’s Penguin as well — as Moroni’s arrest caused a lot of fuss in Gotham City, it’s quite explainable why Penguin visits him in jail and tries to get his advice on what next step in the messy city Oswald Cobblepot should take.

Perhaps another argument in favor of Salvatore Moroni getting his action in Batman Part II will be the fact that Penguin gets to deal with Batman anyway as Colin Farrell has already appeared in his villainous role in Matt Reeves’ first movie.

Thus, if Penguin and Maroni do hatch a plot, Batman will inevitably have to face his other rival.
