The actress was devastated after failing this audition.

It is commonly known that Jennifer Lawrence auditioned for the role of Bella Swan in Twilight, which eventually went to Kristen Stewart.

Jennifer did not regret losing this role, but the failure of another casting still haunts the actress.

Jennifer Lawrence is a phenomenon of our time: she started acting at the age of 16 and won an Oscar at 22.

She has starred in big-budget franchises like the X-Men and had dramatic roles in movies like Serena and Silver Linings Playbook.

However, even as a successful actress as Jennifer Lawrence has not been able to get some roles and she still regrets it.

It turns out that Tim Burton's 2010 movie Alice in Wonderland could have been very different. The lead role went to young Australian actress Mia Wasikowska, for whom the movie became a career breakthrough.

But Jennifer Lawrence could also play Alice Kingsleigh. The future Hunger Games star also auditioned for this role and was simply devastated when she did not get it.

Tim Burton's take on Alice's story was very different from Lewis Carroll's, but features a lot of familiar faces. Alice in the movie is a nineteen-year-old girl who is forced to marry Lord Hamish – a red-haired, pompous fool.

Naturally, Alice does not want to marry him, but then the White Rabbit appears and lures the girl down the rabbit hole that leads to Wonderland.

Although the movie received average reviews from both audiences and critics, it managed to become a financial success, grossing over $1 billion at the worldwide box office.

Despite this setback and a missed project that was so financially successful, Lawrence still managed to find her own path to stardom in Hollywood.

After an unsuccessful casting, Jennifer had no time to pine. In the same year 2010, the independent movie Winter's Bone was released, in which Lawrence played the main role – the project brought Jennifer her first Oscar nomination.

After that Lawrence starred in a big amount of critically acclaimed movies: The Hunger Games, American Hustle, mother!, Joy and others.

Moreover, a comedy with Jennifer in the main role titled No Hard Feelings will be released soon. It will be in theaters on June 23.
