This character's behavior was a source of justifiable anger for most fans.

The Office is a cult comedy series that has long stood alongside genre legends like Friends, Community, and Seinfeld. It ended its run in 2012, but new fans continue to emerge – the show's relevance and success only seems to grow over the years.

But once upon a time, the US version of The Office was considered to be just another soulless remake of the British series, and the low ratings of the first season almost led to its cancellation.

Oddly enough, it was not the episodes from the first season that received the lowest ratings. The worst episode in sitcom history was Get the Girl from the eighth season. The Office has become one of those shows where bad episodes are rare, but Get the Girl seems to have disappointed fans a lot.

The episode mainly focuses on Andy and Erin's romance, which, to be honest, has never been well received by fans. Spending half an hour watching Andy drive across the country to track down Erin and then serenade her in the most awkward way is something no fan deserves.

And to add to this mess, Nellie takes over in Andy's absence. The show has really struggled to have convincing bosses or managers since Michael's departure. But Nellie's character was annoying and hard to understand.

Sometimes she was antagonistic, sometimes sensitive, but there was nothing interesting about her.

Nellie was played by Catherine Tate, who first appeared in this role in the seventh season. The actress was unlucky – her character did not elicit a single drop of good feelings from the fans, who at that time were still saddened by the departure from the series of the main star, Steve Carell, who played Michael Scott.

But aside from the comparison between Nellie and Michael, the character herself turned out to be just annoying and not nearly as good-natured as the rest of the office workers.

All this led to a predictable result – the episode in which Nellie not only behaves annoyingly as usual, but also does the unthinkable – sits in the chair of Michael Scott himself – received the lowest rating in the history of The Office – 6.4.
