The 2000s classic, starring the likes of Colin Firth, Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Keira Knightley, and many other A-listers, has been at the top of everyone's Christmas to-watch lists for years. But now it seems like it's time to shake things up.

If you're in the mood for a youthful and progressive Christmas comedy, full of diverse people with diverse relationships, and without the disturbing power imbalance and age gap, try putting Love Actually aside and give Netflix's Let It Snow a try.

Is Let In Snow on Netflix Good?

Released in 2019, the movie not only still holds up, but is a perfect reflection of the modern world, not the one we were used to in 2003.

Let It Snow tells the story of many young people who are all stuck together in a small town because their train is stuck on snow-covered tracks. Despite their differences, they are forced to spend Christmas Eve together, have some good laughs, and maybe even find love in the end.

The premise is as simple as it gets, but the ensemble cast allows the parallels between the different characters and their stories to be drawn in a similar way to Love Actually. It's interesting to note that Let It Snow has a higher critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes, standing at 81% to Love Actually's 64%.

The cast of the movie is full of young actors with fresh faces, but there are a few that you would certainly recognize. Spider-Man's Jacob Batalon, Kiernan Shipka, and Joan Cusack, to name a few.

Not only are queer people invited to the party this time, but their scenes aren't removed in the final cut. Let It Snow makes everyone feel equally joyful on Christmas Eve, reminding viewers that no matter who they are, they deserve a group of loving friends, a little romance in their lives, and a big celebration.

If you are willing to give something new a chance, you can go ahead and stream Let In Snow on Netflix. But, if you are a creature of habit and simply cannot give up the yearly Love Actually rewatch, try to look at it through the critical prism this time around.
