The Modern Family’s Reunion Can Revamp This Character’s Unfairly Forgotten Storyline

ABC’s Modern Family had its run of 11 seasons from 2009 right up to 2020 — the years during which it became an international hit series that most of the viewers found hilariously relatable.

With all the versatile characters every single one of which wasn’t like any other, the show concluded its television run with a relatively good ending for everyone — though one particular character could have definitely done better.

In the Dunphy’s family, ruled by a couple of Claire and Phil who are portrayed by Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell respectively, all three children seem to be from three different planets and each one of them goes their own way, but it’s Haley’s story that showcases the character’s real evolution.

Portrayed by actress Sarah Hyland, Haley is the oldest child in the family, yet from the very beginning appears to be the most irresponsible one. Over the course of the plot the viewer can’t help noticing how Haley, at first being a lazy teenager caring only about fashionable clothes, transforms into a self-sufficient and hard-working young woman who strives for achieving her career goals and doing all the best for her family.

Speaking to Variety recently, Sarah Hyland revealed that she felt like her character’s story wasn’t finished properly in the show’s finale.

According to the actress, the viewer never got to see where Hayley would be today creatively as in Modern Family’s last season the character takes up an editor position in a lifestyle company.

Thus, Hyland admitted that she would love to know that eventually Haley had become successful in what she had chosen as her career path — but so far there’s no sign of the Modern Family’s reunion on the horizon.

Fans can definitely leave for a while their hopes that the favorite characters’ would make their come-back in some kind of follow up as the original show ended only four years ago.

Despite that, it would still be lovely to see where the Pritchett family and its offspring stand now as some of the characters made quite drastic decisions back in the show’s finale.
