The Mandalorian Star May Have Spoiled Season 3 Heartbreaking Finale
An Instagram story, which was quickly taken down, might have been a grim foreshadowing of things to come.
The third season of The Mandalorian is coming to a close this week, and fans are holding their breath in anticipation.
Though this season has been criticized for straying too far from the main plot in favor of subplots, the final episode did a surprisingly good job of tying most of the storylines together.
However, the season finale may be more dramatic than expected.
Brendan Wayne, who portrays the titular bounty hunter in helmet-wearing scenes, recently posted a rather ambiguous
Instagram story claiming: "This next episode will make you wish you hadn't asked for more... it might just hurt too much."
It was deleted shortly thereafter, only fueling fans' curiosity about what exactly the show's creators have in store for them.
The most popular candidate to be killed off is Bo-Katan Kryze, portrayed by Katee Sackhoff.
Considering that she was recently given the Dark Sword, which makes her the ruler of the Mandalorians, fans believe that she might give it back to Din in her final moments, tasking him with continuing to lead their people.
However, such a turn of events might be quite disappointing, as Bo-Katan is an important character who has appeared on screen since Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and getting rid of her seems like a questionable decision.
Also, making Din "The Chosen One" would destroy the whole idea of his character, who has no interest in power and has been portrayed as "no one" throughout the series.
Another less obvious, and very risky, possibility is that it will be Din who meets his end.
Fans have complained that he no longer feels like a main character, which could be an unexpected foreshadowing of things to come.
Also, the show's title could be applied to any other Mandalorian, from Bo-Katan to Grogu, who could eventually become Din's successor.
"I was scared before seeing this news I'm more scared now that we might lose din but that being said we should lose a lot of mandalorians in the next ep no way they taking mandalore back," Twitter user Dan5487_ said.
Of course, there are other possible explanations for the actor's statement, but fans will have to wait until the final episode to find out the truth.
The Mandalorian season 3 finale will be released on April 19, 2023.
