Season 2 of The Mandalorian reintroduced audiences to some legendary Star Wars characters – including bounty hunter, Boba Fett. And the latest poster for The Mandalorian season 3 (due to air on Disney+ in March) has hinted at another return for the popular character from the original trilogy.

While there has been no official confirmation that Boba Fett will feature in the upcoming series, a subscriber-only poster for the show has certainly given a strong hint that we'll be meeting him again.

The Empire poster provides a first glimpse of the unmasked Din Djarin as well as 11 different helmets – one of which appears to be that of Boba Fett.

Comparing the helmet in the poster with that of the bounty hunter, there are some clear similarities such as the reticle on the side and (more tellingly) a dent from a blaster that seems identical to the one on Boba Fett's helmet.

As many fans will know, Boba Fett took over what was once Jabba the Hutt's Tatooine crime empire and joined forces with Din Djarin in The Book of Boba Fett after (it transpires) he didn't die in the Sarlacc pit in Return of the Jedi.

And the trailer for The Mandalorian season 3 hints at a return to Tatooine, so there is another suggestion that Boba Fett may be making at least a cameo appearance in the new season of the show.

Whether he'll replicate the Mandalorian's taking over of an entire episode of an eponymous show is yet to be determined. But the mutual respect and friendship between the two, along with a couple of pretty hefty hints at Fett's appearance has got fans excited for the series.

Thankfully, as we race towards the end of February, we don't have long to wait before we discover what the next season of this popular Star Wars spin-off has in store for us.

Interestingly, there is a crossover between the two shows (The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett) that might confuse some fans.

At the end of The Mandalorian season 2, Grogu was heading off for Jedi training with Luke Skywalker. Viewers who didn't watch The Book of Boba Fett will have missed the episode in which Grogu is reunited with Din Djarin and may be a bit confused as to how and why they're back together in season 3.
