The Boys Goes Full Supernatural: Another Winchester in the Cast?
The Supernatural creator wants to reunite his star alums on The Boys and has already discussed it with Jared Padalecki. The Winchester superheroes — when?
Eric Kripke rarely misses his shots: the man who wrote and produced Supernatural, he’s now busy working on The Boys and its spin-off Generation V. Despite shifting to an entirely new franchise, Kripke didn’t forget his star alums aka the Winchester brothers — he already got Jensen Ackles to play Soldier Boy in The Boys Season 3, and now the producer is seeking to get Jared Padalecki back, too.
Will Jared Padalecki Join The Boys?
Recently, Eric Kripke sat down with EW to discuss The Boys — and shared promising news about his attempts to reunite the good old Supernatural cast on his new TV show.
Apparently, fans are not the only ones who have been hoping for the Winchester brothers to get back together, and Kripke wants to do it, too.
“Texts have been sent! I feel like it would be a bummer to not have Jared on the show one way or another at this point, even if it’s just the one-episode thing. He’s been shooting Walker, but with that show wrapping up, maybe he’ll have some time to come in and play with us. I would love it. We have definitely talked about it,” the producer revealed.
If you’re itching to see Ackles and Padalecki together again, there’s a good chance you will — or at least, now’s the best chance there has ever been.
Jared Padalecki’s Free for Grabs Now
If there has ever been the perfect time to have Padalecki on The Boys, it’s right now. In the past few years, the actor has been busy with his CW series Walker, but the network recently announced the show’s cancellation, rendering its lead star free for grabs… And Eric Kripke might have the first dibs on Padalecki, seeing how they have a long and fruitful history on Supernatural.
The one thing we’d like to add to the producer’s words, and we’re sure fans will agree with us, is that when and if Jared Padalecki joins The Boys, it better not be a “one-episode thing.” We want him and Jensen Ackles back together, and we want to see what chemistry their characters can develop in an entirely different setting.
