The Biggest Question Of Bridgerton S3: What On Earth Will Benedict Do?
Fans are worried we’re about to see a Regency take on Euphoria.
Summary:
- Bridgerton is a romantic period drama produced by Netflix and Shondaland.
- Each season focuses on a love story of one of eight Bridgerton siblings.
- Season 3 is confirmed to be led by Colin Bridgerton, but fans are just as interested in the arc of his elder brother Benedict.
The time seems to fly by as the holiday season approaches. However, Bridgerton fans are having a hard time enjoying the festivities. Still reeling from not one, but two botched release dates for season 3, viewers are trying to finally get past the month of December and into the year 2024 with a whole lot of good news.
Of course, the fandom of Netflix's iconic romantic period drama is expecting a hefty gift for having been so good and patient throughout the entire year of waiting. An announcement of the real release date for season 3 to finally put an end to all the rumors would be just the right thing for the occasion.
In the absence of such news, audiences are left with nothing but their own speculation. And while the team behind Bridgerton has revealed some information about the show's main couples, it's the singles that remain the most mysterious.
Is Bridgerton Season 3 About Benedict?
While the focus of the upcoming season will be on the third son of the Bridgerton family, Colin, the second son is more than likely to have an appearance. However, it is hard to guess what exactly his plot will be.
In the finale of the second season, Benedict was left in a very vulnerable position. Heartbroken over his cheated acceptance into the Royal Academy of Art, confused about his position within the family, and addicted to several substances, he wasn't in the best place.
While audiences will expect him to play a familiar role of comic relief, there's a dramatic side to Benedict that needs to be better developed in order to push any romance his way during the following years.
Perhaps we will be blessed with more of Luke Thompson's dramatic performances, as well as his sharp delivery of the punch lines.
However, many people are afraid that all the drama that is in store for the show will have to do with such dark subjects as addiction and depression. But in the 19th century, when the series was set, the latter would not be considered a concern.
Of course, any discussion of Benedict would be incomplete without mentioning his potential love interests. Whether or not the show will take an unexpected turn and we'll get to see Benedict export his sexuality, or if Bridgerton will tease us with the first look at Sophie Beckett, is hard to say at this point.
What we do know for sure is that season 3 is going to be a roller coaster ride of emotions for everyone, including Benedict. Stay tuned for release date updates if you want to join the ride.
