The Acolyte Finale Recap & What to Expect in Season 2
The Acolyte is still canon, no matter how bad it is.
The debut season of The Acolyte was an outright failure: it is currently the worst project in the franchise. However, for all its flaws, the series has an impact on the Star Wars universe as canon.
The Acolyte Final Episode Recap
At the beginning of the final 8th episode, Osha, who saw the future, tries to get to her sister before she kills Sol. Meanwhile, Sol himself wants to prove to the Jedi that Osha and Mae are not twins or even sisters. He suspects that their mother used the Force to conceive them. Mae manages to escape, and after a short chase ends up on her home planet Brendok.
On Coruscant, Vernestra Rwoh talks to the Senator — he says he wants more control over the Jedi's actions. He also calls the Order a religious cult that tries to control their emotions which can lead to tragic consequences.
In The Acolyte appears Darth Plagueis himself — a powerful Sith and future mentor of Darth Sidious. We see him spying on Qimir and Osha. It is possible that he was or is Qimir's mentor or that he chooses which of the two will be his apprentice. Presumably, Osha is on the list of candidates as well, since she was conceived by manipulating Midi-chlorians.
Sol tries to find Mae on her home planet. Soon a tense fight begins between Sol and Qimir — and it is one of the few good action scenes in the entire first season of The Acolyte.
While Sol and Qimir fight, Osha and Mae have an emotional conversation. Osha admits that her Jedi training ended because she had trouble controlling her emotions. Mae, in turn, reveals to her sister that Sol killed their mother. When the two mentor/student duos are reunited, Osha finally gets a confession from Sol — he tries to justify himself to her. As a result, the girl uses the Force to kill her former mentor.
Vernestra Rwoh, who has arrived on Brendok, does not arrive in time for this showdown, but finds the body of the dead Sol and later decides to blame him for the massacre of the witches' coven and the recent deaths of the Jedi in order to minimize the already growing pressure on the Order.
The escaped Mae and Osha say their goodbyes. Osha agrees to become Qimir's apprentice, and he erases Mae's memories so that the Jedi can no longer obtain the information they need about the Sith and his new apprentice.
The Acolyte Season 2 Possible Plot
Let's imagine what could happen in the second season of The Acolyte if suddenly the anger of the franchise fans does not become an obstacle to its creation.
Most likely, the writers will pay attention to Vernestra Rwoh, who will try to find her former apprentice Qimir. We will learn what happened between them and whether Vernestra was the reason for the appearance of the scars on the Sith's back.
At the same time, Qimir will continue to mentor Osha, and the powerful Darth Plagueis may try to get the girl to study Midi-chlorians in order to gain immortality. To do that, he may even try to eliminate Qimir.
