We know that at first Chicago Fire was mostly focused on Kelly Severide's relationship with his colleague, Matthew Casey, but that doesn't mean that one of the prominent characters doesn't deserve a list of the episodes where he's been portrayed the best.

Kelly Severide has been with the show for a long time, and throughout its run, this character has developed a lot. Even in the first season, he was the one showing the lasting impact of that gruesome work, and he carried that through the whole run that featured him.
Kelly is one of the most alive, the most believable characters in procedurals like that, one who constantly evolves and changes as the events of the show affect him and make him reconsider his life choices. Kelly from the first season is extremely different from Kelly from the tenth season, and we have to thank Taylor Kinney for that — he's the reason why we loved following Kelly's personal adventure because he made Kelly so lovable.
For someone with a job like that, Kelly is an extremely compassionate and empathetic man, one who has gone through many tortures of his own. We love that.
