House of the Dragon episode 9 has given us tons to think about and get prepared for, but, aside from Rhaenys picking her side and Alicent indulging to Larys' foot fetish, there was a hint at a character that might be really big in the future.

We're talking about that sweet silver-hair baby boy in the disturbing kids' gladiator arena who turned out to be Aegon's bastard son. While Aegon had "many" of them, according to the show, this particular one might become really important later in House of the Dragon.

According to fans, we saw Gaemon Palehair — a future pretender king during the Dance of the Dragons. When the war finally ended, he became the cupbearer for his friend, King Aegon III Targaryen, Rhaenyra's son.

Albeit not officially confirmed, it might be a pretty obvious set-up — unless, of course, the show decides to alter the story of Aegon's bastard.

It's unclear, however, who is the kid's mother, as he seems to be too old for Dyana the maid to be his parent. Besides, Alicent made sure that the maid drank that anti-abortion tea.

In the episode, no one seemed to be interested in the boy, just leaving him trapped among the vicious kid gladiators. Aegon, who has been proclaimed king in the end of the episode, also does not seem to care about his bastard kids. In fact, if the show follows the books' course, then the rest of Gaemon's life will be just as gloomy as his childhood, but we won't spoil it for you just yet.

House of the Dragon finale is set to premiere on HBO Max on Sunday, October 23.
