SVU Fans Fear Carisi May Soon Leave Law & Order
The character has been through a lot — and that’s what may encourage him to call it a day.
Law & Order: SVU might soon be forced to say goodbye to one of the lead characters who’s been there ever since season 16, and fans are starting to spot what they believe to be clear signs of such a disheartening plot twist.
The 26th season’s episode 8 titled “Cornered” proved to be a tough time for Dominick Carisi getting into a pretty scary situation which probably will become a turning point in the character’s life and career sometime in the future.
As if that wasn’t enough, the show’s fans also have a feeling that SVU’s creators might be up to something not very positive — all due to an interesting detail that caught their attention.
Warning: spoilers for Law & Order: SVU season 26 episode 8 ahead.
Carisi’s Hostage Accident May Become a Point of no Return — Quite Literally
In the episode, the character makes a brave attempt to save two women taken hostage, though the mission doesn’t go according to plan, and Carisi ends up getting stuck as a hostage himself. Eventually he does find a solution to the problem, though everything that happened has surely hit him pretty hard and will now have a long-lasting impact on everything Carisi will be up to.
Amid the episode’s release back in November, Carisi’s actor Peter Scanavino revealed that his character was “kind of lost” while trying to get back to work and control his own feelings at the same time.
Additionally, Scanavino thinks that Carisi is definitely not feeling well and so far doesn’t even know how to deal with everything he’s been through lately – which might become a solid reason for him to part ways with all of his profession’s possible dangers.
SVU Fans Have Noticed Another Bad Omen for Carisi’s Future in the Show
However, the actor’s discouraging thought about his character’s future isn’t the only thing that caused concern among the series’ fans.
On Reddit, one user wondered whether they were the only one to feel like the show was trying to pave the way for Carisi’s eventual departure — sadly, the question didn’t get the answer the OP had probably wanted.
Many fans discovered that they’ve been thinking the same “since the beginning when it was apparent they were heavily focusing on Carisi more than normal. Something is up there.”
This thought also gained some supporters with one of them claiming that “all of a sudden in season 26 its pretty much all Carisi.” However, it’s still too early to say goodbye to Scanavino’s character – we have plenty of season 26’s episodes to be released.
Law & Order: SVU airs on NBC and is available for streaming on Hulu. Next episode is scheduled to premiere on Thursday, January 23.
