Every genre veteran shouldn’t miss these!

Thrillers have always been one of the most popular movie genres, although they don’t make them like in the 90s anymore. If you like to tickle your nerves with some mystery stories and gangs’ showdowns, grab some popcorn, as we have a perfect list for you.

Here are 5 new thrillers rated 70% or higher on Rotten Tomatoes.

5. The Beekeeper — 71% on RT

First comes, probably, the best Jason Statham movie in years, as this action-packed thriller is not only well-choreographed and acted impeccably, but also decently written. Our favorite Snatch star here portrays a former operative on his way to avenge those responsible for the death of his landlady, and his revenge is really elaborate.

4. Rest in Peace — 78% on RT

This one is quite unusual, as here we have an Argentine thriller that managed to enter Netflix ’s global top at the time and offered a unique premise. It focuses on a man who decides to fake his death in the explosion to protect his family from his financial strain. Years later, he returns only to realize that their lives are completely changed.

3. Arcadian — 79% on RT

Next comes a flick that blends thriller, action and horror elements, and this mix makes it an emotional roller coaster of a movie. Starring Nicolas Cage and set in a post-apocalyptic future, it follows a man and his two teenage sons as they’re trying to survive in the new reality where you’re threatened by ferocious creatures by night.

2. Monkey Man — 88% on RT

Dev Patel’s directorial debut is truly a gem of the genre thanks to the greatness of its script that doesn’t forget to explore both social and personal issues. This action thriller centers on an oppressed man who participates in an underground fight club and once sets out to avenge the city's sinister elite who took everything from him.

1. Love Lies Bleeding — 94% on RT

Last entry on today’s list is a multi-genre film that combines elements of neo-noir, crime thriller, sports drama and romance. It has Kristen Stewart starring as a gym manager who falls for a bodybuilder (Katy O'Brian), but is forced to deal with the crimes of her family. Indeed, it is definitely worth your time as the most inventive thriller of the year.
