Surprising HIMYM Stars Reunion Has All the Fans Saying One Thing
Luke looks way too mature for his age, and he should only be 6 years old!
We all love it when the cast of our favorite shows reunite, even if not as part of the resurrection of the project, but at least as colleagues who have worked together for years and have become true friends and even family to each other. After all, it's a good reminder of the warm years spent watching the show and the chemistry between the cast members that existed not only in the script, but also behind the scenes, in real life.
In particular, it's always nice to see the How I Met Your Mother cast cross paths. Regardless of how you feel about the writers' final decisions, the show has become an integral part of our lives over the nine years of its existence, one that we're not ashamed to revisit, even in 2023.
But recently, there was a peculiar 'reunion' between the two HIMYM actors that no one saw coming. After all, it's unknown if they ever crossed paths during filming! But what's even more remarkable is how much they resemble each other in real life.
Father-Son Reunion
We're talking about the momentous reunion between Ted Mosby actor Josh Radnor, 49, and his son Luke, now acclaimed actor David Henrie, 34. On November 4, Henrie posted a remarkable photo on his personal Instagram account of the meeting of the two actors.
'Found my father. Finally,' Henrie quipped in the caption under the photo.
Fans were unanimous in noting how much effort the casting directors put into recruiting actors for the show. Despite being completely unrelated, Radnor and Henri do look alike in real life. They're about the same height, they have similar smiles, and judging by their Instagram captions, they even share a similar sense of humor. And even though they're only 15 years apart, it's easy to assume they're at least related.
Radnor also posted this photo to his account, and in the caption, he quoted lines from the Cat Stevens song Father And Son, which is dedicated to the hard craft of parenting.
They've Probably Never Met on Set
What makes this reunion particularly noteworthy is that the actors, though directly connected in the storyline from the very first season and directly sympathetic to each other on screen, probably never crossed paths during filming.
Although Radnor became inseparable from the role of Ted by being its only face, his old version was played by a different actor. The show's narrator, the "future" Ted Mosby, who got tired of his boring kids after 9 seasons, was voiced by Bob Saget, and the voice-over parts were probably done after the storytelling scenes with Luke and his older sister Penny (Lyndsy Fonseca) were filmed.
So seeing Radnor and Henri together for real was a treat. Obviously, the writers should have developed a story not about how Ted met Tracy and then reunited with Robin, but how he was able to meet his son years after the main events!
Radnor Fondly Recalls the Years on HIMYM
This September marked a staggering 18 years since the first episode of How I Met Your Mother aired. To celebrate, Josh Radnor shared an incredibly moving post on his Instagram, along with a photo of the gang hanging out at the iconic MacLaren's Pub.
'I am immensely grateful to have been part of a show that continues to mean so much to so many people,' he wrote.
Well, given Radnor's love for the project and the cast, we can only hope that Ted will be reunited with his daughter Penny soon!
