The brand new anime series Suicide Squad Isekai has already made rounds around the world with its fresh take on the iconic DC characters. On Rotten Tomatoes, the series boasts a decent 68% Audience Score, and its 6.9/10 IMDb score tells a similar story.

While unusual and daring, this reinvention of the classic story seems to have captured fans from around the world with its quirks and bold choices.

What Is Suicide Squad Isekai?

In Japanese, “isekai” means “another world.” The show sends Harley, Deadshot, Clayface, Peacemaker, and King Shark to a world riddled with magic and chaos with explosive collars on their necks, tasking them to collect resources — or die trying. But the Suicide Squad isn’t ready to go down easily, so they’re hellbent to surviving in Isekai and finding a way back into their dimension and breaking their chains.

When Is Suicide Squad Isekai Coming Out?

At the time of writing, the first few episodes have already premiered. The first three episodes were released on June 27, 2024 on Hulu and Max, with consequent entries premiering every week on Thursdays. Currently, the final episode of the anime is scheduled for an August 15, 2024 release.

Suicide Squad Isekai: How Many Episodes Are There?

With five episodes already out, fans are in for an equally long journey ahead. Season 1 consists of 10 episodes. It’s yet unknown whether the TV show will be extended for another series, but seeing its reasonable success, we might be looking at a renewal after the finale five episodes of Season 1 are released.

Where Will Suicide Squad Isekai Be Streaming?

In the US, Suicide Squad Isekai is available for streaming on Hulu and Max. ANIPLUS & LAFTEL host the anime for Korea, and in France, you can watch it on Anime Digital Network.

For Southeast Asia, Taiwan & Hong Kong, HBO GO is the distributor, and you can stream the series on Ani-One Asia, BiliBili, and iQIYI in most Asian regions. In Japan, the show is available on Tokyo MX and BS11.

In the UK, no major streaming platform has picked the new anime up so far.
