It was not an easy day for anyone.

Working on a show like Stranger Things has to be an extremely exciting opportunity for any actor. Not only do you get all the Netflix exposure, but you get to do your job while fighting all sorts of demons in the universe and solving puzzles created by the writers. But with any action-packed horror story comes some of the darkest moments.

For viewers, the most traumatizing moment of season 4 ended up being the death of Eddie Munson. As it turned out, the actors went through all kinds of emotions about it, making it almost impossible to do justice to the scene.

Did Eddie Munson Die in Stranger Things Season 4?

While there was no shortage of emotional moments in the latest season of Stranger Things, there was one that stood out the most. Gaten Matarazzo's final goodbye to his friend, Joseph Quinn 's Eddie Munson, as he faced his imminent death, was one of the most powerful and heartbreaking performances of the entire series.

And it's not surprising that so many fans are still affected by the scene and want to know more about it.

During the FanExpo Dallas panel, Matarazzo recalled in detail the emotions behind the process of filming that one final scene between two friends. It turned out to be as difficult for the actors to film as it was for the audience to watch. Still, the heartfelt moment was worth the effort.

“We filmed that twice because I absolutely despised the first time we filmed that. He was so good and I just wasn't centering. It was outside at 5:00 AM, we'd already done a whole day of filming, and we were just drained and I just didn't, just wasn't there. I didn't feel right,” the actor explained.

Fortunately, the second shot worked out for the best, and viewers got to see it on their screens at the end of season 4. While the journey is over for Eddie, who sacrificed his own life to save his friends and prove his bravery and worth, Dustin will have to move forward with the moment of their final goodbye, and we've yet to see how it affects him.

If you want to see where the final season of the show will take all of its characters, and who else might not survive the battle against Vecna, be sure to keep an eye out for more Stranger Things season 5 news and behind-the-scenes updates. In the meantime, you can binge-watch the first 4 seasons of the show on Netflix.
