Now that the fifth season of Stranger Things will be its last, the Duffer Brothers basically promised us spin-offs of the beloved series that will focus on totally different characters.

But do we really need those spin-offs anyway?

The short answer: maybe. As far as the money goes, future spin-offs are a done deal, however official they are at the moment.

Stranger Things is massively popular worldwide, and not making any spin-offs in this universe once the main show is ended, would just mean not to strike iron while its hot.

So, let's just leave it out in the open that spin-offs will happen, because money is money, and ratings are ratings.

What is more interesting is whether those spin-offs would make the return to Stanger Things realm as exciting as the core series is.

Considering the scope of the story, it's clear the fifth season will not suffice to explore the show's universe. This gives the potential for future off-shoots.

Reportedly, Finn Wolfhard (who plays Mike Wheeler in the series) has apparently guessed the theme at least of one of the spin-offs right.

"Someone needs to PEACEFULLY kidnap Finn and demand some answears otherwise Im gonna lose my mind because I can't figure this out," Redditor flying_to_the_moon2 stated what many fans were thinking.

In recent interviews, the Duffer Brothers, the main people behind the series, have revealed the spin-offs will be something very different from what we saw in the core series. Those new stories will further delve into the complex mythology of the show.

And that's precisely why not every future spin-offs' idea might get a proper execution. The only way for the spin-offs to work is to have someone behind them who has been there all along – the Duffer Brothers.

We have yet to find out how far deep will they both be involved in future Stranger Things-related projects. Many fans fear that if their involvement will be scarce, we might get poorly executed and ill-fated spin-offs, that will just fail to explore the universe the Duffers' have built.

This is clearly not something fans would want for their beloved horror story.

And while we wait for more details to come out, fans are already exploring their own spinoff suggestions — from really great one to those we hope are just jokes. Some are pretty out there:

"Maybe a Married with Children remake with Mr. and Mrs. Demagorgon?" Redditor max9275ii suggested.

And some may have some merit:

"It's an upside down spin off. The history of [the Lovecraft] hell," as suggested by a Redditor Anxious_Steak_1246.

Whatever form future Stranger Things spin-offs take, the fans will be waiting, as they will be for the premiere of the fifth and final season of the main show. The release date is yet to be scheduled.
