And the streaming’s numerous viewers seem to share the same opinion.

Netflix is widely known for its long-standing tradition of dropping more and more of new and old flicks and shows to its platform every week, but this time the streaming has prepared a really big surprise for its audience.

Without letting anyone know beforehand, Netflix suddenly added Takashi Yamazaki’s last year huge sci-fi hit Godzilla Minus One, to the surprise and delight of those who have been desperately waiting for the movie to arrive on the global streaming after it got a weird limited digital release in Japan only.

Now that the highly-anticipated flick is finally available for everyone to check out, a famous author seems to have been one of the first people to do so.

Stephen King has recently taken to his social media to let everyone know about his feelings after watching Godzilla Minus One, posting a short phrase on X that says just “So good”.

King’s comment turned out to be his personal addition to a repost from Linwood Barclay’s account who, in his turn, stated “Finally seeing Godzilla Minus One. It’s like being 10 again.”

It’s fair to say that Stephen King is definitely a good judge in such horror-coded movies like Godzilla Minus One, and Netflix’s viewers can only confirm this. According to the data provided by FlixPatrol, the epic sci-fi film is currently holding a number one position in the US top 10 chart and a second place in the streaming’s global top 10, surpassed only by Polish crime movie Colors of Evil: Red.

Released back in 2023, Godzilla Minus One was quick to blow everyone away even with a quite limited theatrical run. The movie follows a former kamikaze pilot suffering from PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) in postwar Japan when the country, still not able to recover from World War II, suddenly faces another big danger when it’s invaded not by some foreign forces, but by a giant monster that everyone knows as “Godzilla.”

To-date, the movie is holding an impressive score of 98% from both critics and viewers.

Godzilla Minus One can now be streamed on Netflix worldwide.
