Stellan Skarsgard's 'Andor' Character Explained
Fans were excited to see the iconic Swedish actor's 'Star Wars' debut, but for many of them his character is still a mystery. Here's everything we know about Skarsgard's role.
With the release of the first teaser trailer for 'Andor ', fans of George Lucas' work finally have their first clue as to what awaits them. The series will tell the story of Diego Luna's Cassian Andor, and his band of rebels trying to overthrow the Empire. And as showrunner Tony Gilroy has confirmed that Skarsgard's character will play a huge role in the upcoming series, fans are wondering what side will he represent – the rebels or the Empire?
It is reported that Skarsgard will play rebel leader Luther Rand, a mentor of sorts for the young and inexperienced Andor. Together they will travel the planets in a desperate attempt to stop the evil Empire from slaughtering innocent people. With Skarsgard's charisma and more than 40 years of acting experience, he is sure to complement Luna's acting throughout the series.
Some fans are already joking that Skarsgard's appearance in the series will be reminiscent of that famous 'Star Wars ' performance in the past.
'Andor' will arrive on Disney + on August 31, 2022.
