Star Wars Needs To Bring Emilia Clarke Back Into Spotlight
While Qi'ra hasn't been seen on screen since Solo, there's a lot more of the character to explore.
Among the several new characters introduced in Solo: A Star Wars Story, Qi'ra was undoubtedly the most important.
Portrayed by the one and only Emilia Clarke, she was Han Solo's first love, and by the end of the film had replaced Dryden Vos as the second-in-command of the Crimson Dawn Syndicate under Maul.
Sadly, that was the last time we saw her on screen, but her story doesn't end there, leaving countless possibilities for her to reappear on the big screen.
Apparently, Qi'ra has become a major character in the franchise, inheriting the title of leader of the Crimson Dawn after Maul's death, as shown in the Star Wars comics.
Did you know, for example, that she stole Han while he was frozen in carbonite and held an auction for him as part of her secret plan?
Of course, it didn't really go as planned, as we see Han in Jabba's palace at the beginning of Episode VI, but it did result in her dueling Darth Vader and surprisingly surviving the encounter.
In addition, Qi'ra directly threatened Emperor Palpatine via a holo-call and devised a plan to destroy both him and his apprentice in order to make the galaxy a fairer place for people to fight for power and to fulfill her former master's dream of revenge.
While her plans didn't work out in the end, as evidenced by the events of the original trilogy, she still left quite an impression.
So, with Star Wars TV series in such high demand, maybe she could get a show of her own.
We already have a space western with The Mandalorian, an espionage thriller with Andor, and several other shows that would be different in tone are on their way, like Ahsoka and The Acolyte.
Qi'ra's story is great material for a space gangster TV show, and she is also a great example of a strong female character.
Also, Emilia Clarke is a very talented actress, and fans would love to see more of her, as she didn't really get a chance to shine in Solo.
