Some roles are just too much for the actors.

Sometimes movie roles are so emotional and difficult for actors that even after receiving recognition and awards for the role, they admit they would never play it again.

This is how Stanley Tucci felt after filming Peter Jackson's The Lovely Bones based on Alice Sebold's novel of the same name.

The Lovely Bones is a heartbreaking and highly unusual story of the life, death and afterlife of 14-year-old Susie Salmon, who was raped and murdered by her neighbor, an unassuming, quiet man, Mr. Harvey.

After Susie's death, she finds herself in her own personal paradise, watching as her family, shattered by the catastrophe, tries to cope with their grief.

More than anything, Susie wants to help them, to give them a sign that she has not left them forever, to tell them who the killer was, but of course she cannot.

The movie has been rated PG-13, which means that children under 13 should not watch it without their parents due to the presence of violent scenes.

Alice Sebold's novel, dedicated to irreparable loss and eternal love, rightly became one of the most important events in the book world of the first decade of the 20th century.

The young writer's debut was warmly received by both the public and literary critics. It is not surprising that Peter Jackson, the creator of the fantastic trilogy The Lord of the Rings, took up the adaptation of the novel.

Stanley Tucci, who played Mr. Harvey, admitted that he would not take on such a role ever again.

"I would not play George Harvey again in The Lovely Bones, that was horrible. It's a wonderful movie but it was a tough experience. Simply because of the role," the actor shared in his interview with Entertainment Tonight.

Although the role of the maniac proved to be extremely difficult for Stanley Tucci, he was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe in the Best Supporting Actor category.

In total, the movie received 6 awards from various associations and festivals, and also received 21 different nominations.
