Nobody was ready for it, including the show’s crew and cast.

Summary:

  • So Help Me Todd ’s season 2 finale is now out concluding the show’s television run after CBS canceled the series earlier this year.
  • Ahead of the finale’s release, So Help Me Todd’s key actors took it to their social media to express their feelings about the whole situation concerning the series being scrapped by the network.
  • Meanwhile the show’s fans keep fighting for its future as their petition keeps garnering more supporters daily.

With So Help Me Todd’s season 2 finale being aired the other day, it seems like it’s indeed time to say goodbye.

The show was canceled by its network CBS earlier in April causing a real outrage among fans who went further than just arguing in the social media and created a whole new petition demanding that So Help Me Todd be back on TV.

While the petition keeps its own run garnering more and more supporters every day, the series’ crew and main cast don’t seem to be that enthusiastic about their brain child's future.

Upon the final episode’s release on May 16, So Help Me Todd’s creator and actors took it to social media to express their disappointment over the show’s end that surely shouldn’t have come that early.

Todd’s actor Skylar Astin reached out to fans shortly after the finale had aired teasing the show’s possible plot twists in the next season and lamenting that CBS was harsh enough to deprive the series of a perfect ending.

According to what the actor wrote on X, he was already aware of how exactly So Help Me Todd was supposed to end stressing that “it was perfect. Emotional, full circle, and perfectly Todd”.

Astin’s message was followed by his colleagues’ Instagram posts sharing some sneak peek details of the production process. Marcia Gay Harden, who in the series portrayed Todd’s mother Margaret, gave her followers a behind-the-scenes video thanking all the fans and the crew for eventually giving So Help Me Todd a shot, even though it all didn’t last that long.

The actress captioned the video by the “Parting is such sweet sorrow….you all know the rest” phrase later on expressing her hope that everyone would still enjoy the finale no matter what.

So Help Me Todd’s creator Scott Prendergast didn’t stand aside either, posting a picture of the show’s pitching cards and encouraging young writers to keep going with their ideas no matter what, even if at first it all seems meaningless.
