So Help Me Todd Star Is Back to CBS With Drama Show (Not the One You Think Of)
Todd’s ex-girlfriend is getting a big promotion.
As heartbroken as So Help Me Todd fans might be right now, they may find a silver lining in some recent news concerning one of the show’s cast members.
Following the series’ definite cancellation that couldn’t be prevented even by fans’ grand online campaign that had been calling out CBS for weeks, So Help Me Todd’s Inga Schlingmann, who portrayed the leading character’s ex-girlfriend Susan on the ditched show, has landed a big role in Watson, CBS’ upcoming series described as a medical drama with detective elements.
Watson initially came around at the expense of the network’s other successful shows, including So Help Me Todd, as CBS needed to make room in its tight schedule for the new arrivals.
What Will Watson Be About?
Starring Morris Chestnut as the titular character, the show will revolve around Arthur Conan Doyle’s John Watson who the storyline finds working as the head of a clinic specializing in rare disorders nearly a year after his friend Sherlock Holmes’ death. Still mourning the late detective, Watson is reassured that sooner or later he’ll have to confront Sherlock’s killer, the criminal world’s genius James Moriarty.
Coming as a new addition to Watson’s cast, Schlingmann is set to portray Sasha Lubbock, a charming doctor in the main character’s clinic who initially specializes in both rheumatology and immunology.
According to Deadline, the show will gradually dive deeper into Lubbock’s background story which will prove that her dual excellence in two completely different medical branches is due to her ironically dual life.
As the early synopsis suggests, “having grown up torn between two families — her birth parents in central China, and her adoptive, religious family in Dallas, Texas — Sasha’s southern charm is parallel only to the ambition that landed her in one of the world’s most prestigious genetics clinics.”
Watson is set to arrive at CBS sometime in 2025.
