The revelations from the project's creator make the cancellation of So Help Me Todd even more pointless.

Let's face it – some TV shows stay on the air longer than they should. It seems like there are no more ideas, but producers still try to squeeze the most out of our favorite characters. And sometimes the opposite happens, when worthy shows are canceled.

The current world of TV series is fast and dynamic, and the losses are all the sadder, especially when you don't expect them.

So Help Me Todd became one of those losses when it was unexpectedly canceled after its second season. And it didn't just end – it left fans with a big fat cliffhanger. However, the creator of the project, Scott Prendergast, shared his plans for the originally planned five more seasons, and we can at least get a glimpse of the development of the plot from the showrunner's words. It's not much, but it's all we have.

Apparently, in the season two finale, viewers saw the legs of Merritt Folding, Margaret's partner who set her up and tried to frame her for his illegal actions. Prendergast shared that he wanted to invite Joe Pantoliano for the role, but negotiations never started. And the legs fans saw in the finale belong to Scott himself.

According to the creator, Margaret was supposed to switch places with Todd in the third season – while her son's affairs would rise, Margaret would become the one to support. And this relationship dynamic would get even more interesting – Margaret would become the family's main liability, as she would still end up in court for the crimes Merritt fabricated.

Of course, the woman would eventually clear her name, but when she returned, she would find that Susan had taken over her office. Margaret would make her way back to the top – which, as always, she would do with her head held high.

As for Todd's personal life, he would have ended up with Susan. Prendergast revealed that his relationship with Judy would have lasted only three more seasons, after which she would have left for Thailand in search of freedom. In the season seven finale, it was planned that Susan would have a child with Todd, whom they would name Margaret.

Finally, Scott talked about the possibility of a revival of So Help Me Todd – and the prospects are unclear:

“It doesn’t seem likely at this point? The fans have been incredible and wildly supportive. Every day, I have like 300 messages from heartbroken fans. We are heartbroken, too.”

Although the creator's comment does not sound encouraging, there is always a small chance that So Help Me Todd will get a second life. In many ways, this depends on the support of the fans, who are already doing everything they can to save the show and should not give up.
