Many actors from Harry Potter are cemented as their characters in the audience's perception — especially the most memorable and talented ones.

Since the finale, many of them have been trying to distance themselves from the franchise as far as possible to get rid of the branding.

Everyone knows, for instance, that Daniel Radcliffe has been taking on multiple different projects after the HP movies in an attempt to stop being Harry Potter in everyone's eyes.

But for others, the situation was different: already well-established actors, like Alan Rickman and Maggy Smith, were not branded at all, and the new actors who played secondary characters were happy about it since the franchise gave them the chance to start a proper acting career.

Most of them, however, went under our radar. Many years have passed since the finale, and you'll barely recognize some of those young actors if you come across them today.

But we enjoy finding them after all this time, catching up with their lives and careers, and, of course, seeing what they look like these days.

This time, we've come across the actress who played one of the most hated characters from the Harry Potter films. Care to guess who that is?

We're talking about Cho Chang, who was portrayed by the amazing Katie Leung.

Harry Potter Fans Still Riled Up Over Controversial Miscast for a Key Role

Despite her acting, the movie fans hated her character: unlike in the books, the movie Cho betrayed Dumbledore's Army (and Harry personally) with no reasoning explained, gave them up to Umbridge, and escaped any sort of punishment.

The movie writers did Cho dirty: in the books, Cho never did anything like this. On top of the betrayal, she also kind of messed up their only-just-starting relationship with Harry Potter…

And even though she did have a good reason for that, most movie fans never forgave her and deemed Cho one of the most annoying characters.

If you also read books, you likely don't hold a grudge against Cho Chang, and you likely appreciated Katie's acting in the movies, too.

But as we said, many years have passed, and Katie Leung is already 35 — let's see how she looks now!

In case you were wondering how her career went after the Harry Potter movies, Katie's been doing great: she's been very busy with multiple projects during all these years.

She acted in 4 movies, 13 TV series, and 7 plays, and even won a BAFTA in 2014 in the Breakthrough Brit category.

Apart from work, in 2022, she also welcomed her son into the world who she named Wolf.
