Kinda changes everything if you think about it.

Shameless is one of the most popular television shows of our time. The series follows the Gallaghers, a dysfunctional family living on the South Side of Chicago.

The patriarch of the family, Frank, is known for his drunken antics and his many questionable decisions. One of the major mysteries surrounding the show is whether he is really the father of the children.

Redditor H_O_L_D offered an interesting interpretation of events. Don't you think Carl and Fiona are a lot alike?

There was a moment in the series when the DNA test showed no African blood in Carl. And that could be proof that the boy is not Frank's son, because all the Gallaghers have it.

And given the similarities between Carl and Fiona, it's a clue that they have the same father and it's not the older member of the family.

The Redditor suggests going back to season 7, when Fiona noticed that Frank and Monica were constantly dragging strangers into the house, most likely from their own circle.

The author of the theory claims: Ian, Carl and Fiona are not the older Gallagher's children, but Lip, Debbie and Liam are Frank's kids.

This assumption is supported by the fact that only Lip, Debbie, and Liam found Frank near Monica's dead body. While this is probably a coincidence, it may be a small detail that the writers left for the most attentive viewers.

Many fans agree with this theory. Some even think that Debbie and Ian have a different father or mother because of their distinct hair color. But other viewers have pointed out that Frank's mother was also a redhead.

Nevertheless, the audience thinks that all the children except Liam are Frank's. Sure, there was some African blood in the Gallagher family, but not that much.

The theory that Frank is not Carl's father is an interesting one that adds a new dimension to the already complex Gallagher's dynamic.

While it has not been confirmed by the show's creators, it is a compelling suggestion that raises questions about the nature of family.

Especially if Frank knew they weren't his children, but took them under his wing anyway.
