The one scene that made fans realize that General Hospital is not about the appearances at all.

General Hospital fans recently witnessed one of the show's greatest storylines – the Nurses Ball. Its return was part of the show's 60th anniversary celebration.

So what is it? It's a fictional charity gala, also known as a fancy party for all the hospital staff, that also shines a spotlight on HIV/AIDS awareness.

But that's the only big cause of the ball. The rest is sprinkled in the form of glamorous red carpet fashion and musical performances by the talented citizens of Port Charles.

This one day everybody just dresses up, puts on makeup and is just ready to shine! But this year it seems like some of the characters took the "shine" part too seriously… And that led to a series of hilarious Reddit discussions.

The main question that was raised sounded like "was there a clearance sale on the glitter dresses?".

The thing is, there was a moment during the ball when three characters from the show were standing right next to each other wearing... almost the same sparkly dresses.

Maxie Jones, Bobbie Spencer, and Sydney Val Jean looked like three sisters who couldn't decide who should wear that dress to a party, so they decided it would be all of them.

Well, to be fair, the dresses are not exactly the same, the necklines and sleeves are a little different, and Bobbie and Sydney are wearing navy dresses while Maxie's is black.

Nevertheless, this picture made the Internet explode with jokes and criticism.

"I just watched the red carpet and by the fourth glitter/sequin dress I was pissed off. It completely lacked creativity. Seeing the fashion is one of my favorite parts of the nurses' ball, so this felt lame," Reddit user plainoverplight said.

Some of the fans assumed that it might actually be the theme of the ball... But no, nothing even hinted at that.

Still, there were fans who were not so cruel to the costume designers' choices.

"I like the dresses. They're very on trend, at least in my area. Even Taylor Swift 's bodysuits are all sequins and crystals!" Reddit user kayemdubs said.

Well, maybe that will make the sofa fashion critics keep quiet?
