Ryan Reynolds is known for his quick wit and sharp tongue, and he's not afraid to speak his mind when it comes to his work.

In a recent interview at a comedy festival at the O2 Arena in London (via Variety), Reynolds took the opportunity to throw some real shade at two of the superhero movies he starred in.

Before Reynolds brought Deadpool to life in his own movies, he played a version of the character in the 2009 X-Men Origins: Wolverine spin-off, which was widely panned by critics and audiences alike.

The few minutes of screen time dedicated to the character in this movie are a thing that haunts moviegoers and comic book fans to this day. That's how bad it was.

The upcoming Deadpool 3 will see Reynolds team up with Hugh Jackman 's Wolverine.

During the London interview, Reynolds praised Hugh Jackman for his kindness and generosity on set, but he also couldn't resist taking a shot at the movie that brought them together 14 years ago.

Reynolds recalled working alongside Jackman on "an absolute trash fire called X-Men Origins Wolverine." The only good thing the Deadpool actor notes about the movie is Jackman. Reynolds says that "what struck [him] about him was just he was so kind… He just treated everyone the same."

While Reynolds' comments might seem harsh, they're not entirely inaccurate. X-Men Origins: Wolverine is widely regarded as one of the worst comic book movies of all time.

Luckily, Reynolds has since redeemed the character in his own Deadpool movies, which have been both critical and commercial successes, and he's now set to reprise the role in the upcoming Deadpool 3.

Of course, Reynolds is also no stranger to bad comic book movies himself, having starred in the widely criticized 2011 Green Lantern movie.

In the same interview, he acknowledged the movie's flaws and revealed probably the only aspect that was good about Green Lantern: shooting it, which "was a lot of fun." He remembers though that "sitting in [Green Lantern's] premiere, watching that [was] tough."

Despite their obvious shortcomings, both above-mentioned superhero movies have played a significant role in Reynolds' career.

With Deadpool 3 on the horizon, fans can't wait for Reynolds' version of the Merc With a Mouth to continue to provide the irreverent humor and brutal action that the character is known for.
