Robert Downey Jr. Sherlock 3 Update Sparks Optimism For Upcoming Release
Despite the busy schedule, the renowned actor still dreams of a trilogy about charismatic sleuth.
After Game of Shadows hit screens in 2011, fans have been eagerly anticipating a thrilling sequel to the last part of the movie as Game of Shadows ended at the most captivating moment.
According to rumors, Guy Ritchie, the British creator of criminal stories, will once again take the director's chair, and the third film will showcase new exciting adventures of the famous English detective and his companion, Doctor John Watson.
The first part and the sequel were highly acclaimed for their thrilling action sequences, fast-paced plotlines, and sharp dialogue, and the expectations for the upcoming release are sky-high.
Despite facing setbacks that have delayed the film's release, Marvel's most iconic star lead has confirmed that he is working closely with the crew to ensure that the final installment of the trilogy surpasses all expectations.
Susan Downey, the actor's wife and producing partner, seems to keep the hope up.
"Well, here's what I can tell you… We had lunch together with Robert… And it was a very specific topic of conversation. So yes, it is in the hopper. We're going to do it when it's right, with the right people, but it is a priority for the company and a priority for Robert," she told The Wrap.
Among the many obstacles Sherlock Holmes 3 faced was Downey Jr's packed schedule, not least due to his occupation in Marvel Cinematic Universe as Iron Man.
However, now that he is no longer busy with being a superhero, the actor remains deeply invested in the timeless British classic – even though it faces some production difficulties.
As an admirer of the character, Downey Jr. brings a distinct charm and wit to the role, and fans are excited to see what he has in store for them.
While Sherlock Holmes 3 may be in limbo now, but it is still a top priority for the actor, and worshippers of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's stories can rest assured that it will be well worth the wait.
The Hollywood version of Sherlock Holmes is still one of the most successful Conan Doyle adaptations in the world.
The new film may not only restore Guy Ritchie's confidence after several failed films, but will also show whether Robert Downey Jr. is really a good commercial actor outside of the MCU, as audiences still remember the Dolittle flop.
Still, as of this day, Ritchie's detective does not have a release date or any other significant updates.
