The character's fate was revealed in a deleted scene.

Most recently, Netflix premiered Queen Charlotte, a must-see spin-off for fans of the original Bridgerton. It is more intimate, has fewer subplots, and lovers of melodrama will enjoy it immensely.

This series, like the original, is focusing on the romantic ups and downs.

One of show's love stories left more questions than answers, but the actors took pity on the fans and revealed some details that shed light on the fate of the characters.

Brimsley and Reynolds became one of the viewers's favorite couples. The first being the King's secretary, and the second – the Queen's right-hand man, they could only afford secret meetings and were obviously crazy about each other.

However, the last episode ended in a tragic scene, and Reynolds never showed up in Bridgerton.

Many fans have come to the conclusion that Brimsley's lover died, but this is not the case, and the love story of the two courtiers turned out to be even more heartbreaking.

In the last episode, Brimsley and Reynolds dance together, but in the next shot, the viewers see only Brimsley dancing alone.

Contrary to the obvious conclusion that Reynolds is dead, the characters actually had to give up their love, which was shown in a deleted scene.

"There was a scene that we didn't film, because it was cut, where I was going to meet the older Reynolds. […] So, when they would pass each other in the passageway in the deleted scene, it wasn't a toxic moment.

Because of the world they inhabited, it was still a hangable offense to be gay, and it was just not possible," shared Hugh Sachs, who played Brimsley, in his interview with Vulture.

So death or illness was not an obstacle to love, Reynolds and Brimsley simply had to give up the love of their lives because it did not fit into the social framework, and they had to live with that decision the rest of their lives.

There is no set release date for the third season of the original Bridgerton series, but it is not expected to be released until the summer of 2023 at the earliest.
