Buscemi is considered the perfect choice when it comes to mad scientists or characters that are there for comic relief; however, despite the stereotype, he remains a talented actor with a diverse range.
The closest Buscemi has ever come to the Harry Potter franchise is actually his role in Miracle Workers alongside Daniel Radcliffe, who portrayed the Boy Who Lived in all seven films.

With a vast filmography that includes dozens of movies, Buscemi might as well bring back the way he portrayed Mr. Pink in Quentin Tarantino 's 1992 movie Reservoir Dogs (one of the few "cool guy" roles Buscemi had), and deliver the most memorable Godric Gryffindor we could ever dream of instead of a stereotypical "hero" in shining armor who loves bravery.
More mainstream fancasts of Godric Gryffindor include Liam Neeson, Sean Bean, Jensen Ackles, and Luke Evans. However, any kind of cinematic adaptation of the story of the Hogwarts founders is currently just a fan's dream, as Warner Bros. has not yet announced any plans to bring it to the big screen.
