Ready For Kung Fu Panda 4? Here’s All You Need To Know About The New Movie
The most anticipated comeback!
Summary:
- The fourth installment of the Kung Fu Panda franchise is scheduled for release on March 8, 2024.
- The new chapter will most likely revolve around Po getting a new role and becoming a master.
- Valley of Peace is about to face a new villain who may be the worst of all those we have seen in previous films.
Remember 2008? It was the year that the first Kung Fu Panda movie was released, and audiences witnessed the ancient times in China, filled with the greatest mysteries, the most terrifying villains and the most fearless heroes (as fearless as a panda learning kung fu can be).
We met Po for the first time, and since then, he has become one of the most popular animated characters of all time. The animated comedy follows Po as he does everything he can to get into kung fu and finally succeeds – when against all odds he becomes The Dragon Warrior by pure coincidence.
After the release, there was hardly a person who didn’t fall in love with the movie. Critics and audiences were so impressed that the commercial success of Kung Fu Panda didn’t really surprise anyone. Naturally, a sequel was only a matter of time. So the second movie hit the theaters in 2011, and the third one arrived in 2016. But after that, the franchise went on a long hiatus before it was announced that part 4 is finally coming.
Kung Fu Panda 4 will be released in theaters on March 8, 2024. That's a great date from a marketing standpoint, but the movie will still have competition in theaters. Apparently, the movie about our favorite panda Po will follow the footsteps of Pixar's project Elio, so it will be interesting to witness this DreamWorks vs. Pixar duel once again.
What Will Kung Fu Panda 4 Be About?
The first movies were mainly telling us the story of Po trying to embrace his identity both as a gluttonous panda and as the Valley of Peace's promised protector. The first film only hinted that he is so much more than a clumsy panda, but the second movie made Po and the others finally understand who he is.
The second part of the saga also gave him closure on fully accepting his adoptive father, however in the third chapter Po finally learns about his heritage and becomes closer to it, even discovering his biological father, a panda named Li.
Kung Fu Panda 4 will probably show us Po getting absolutely well with his new personality: being less clumsy, a lot wiser and a lot more confident in his power.
Jack Black, the actor who gave Po his voice from chapter one, hinted that the fourth part will be largely about giving Po's character more value and making him the spiritual leader of their universe. Yes, it seems like Po will become a new version of Master Oogway.
This can only mean that a new Dragon Warrior is about to enter the picture, and luckily Po knows who it might be. However, the fox Zhen, who the panda thinks is a perfect match, is not that interested in kung fu. But there's no time for persuasion, because the new villain, the Chameleon, is ready to attack the village.
Who Is The Director Of Kung Fu Panda 4?
Mike Mitchell will be directing the fourth installment of the franchise, and even though it will be his first Kung Fu Panda movie, fans shouldn't worry, because Mitchell is the same man who directed Trolls, Shrek Forever After and other great movies.
But he's not a new face for Kung Fu Panda fans at all: he was a creative consultant in the first movie, and exec produced the third chapter. It's safe to say Kung Fu Panda 4 is in good hands!
