Reacher Update Suggests Season 3 Coming Sooner Than Expected
Production for the next season is already in the final stages, suggesting that it could be released before the end of the year.
Summary:
- Season 2 of Reacher wrapped just a month ago, but production on season 3 is already well underway
- According to Alan Ritchson, the process is currently in the final stages, so season 3 has all chances to be released this year
- Fans hope that the show's creators have taken the criticism of season 2 into consideration and will avoid making the same mistakes
Though the second season of the Reacher TV series proved to be much more polarizing than its predecessor, sparking some pretty strong reactions from a good half of the fanbase, it was by no means a flop.
On the contrary, the controversial reception didn't stop season 2 from exceeding everyone's expectations, as it took the series to new heights of popularity and proved to be even more successful, securing the show's renewal for a third season.
Season 3 Production is Already Nearing Completion
Although season two ended just over a month ago, production on the next chapter in the Jack Reacher saga began almost immediately after season three was greenlit, making it clear that fans won't have to wait too long for the next installment.
Now, during his recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Alan Ritchson, who portrays the titular character, hinted that the third season of the series may be coming even sooner than expected.
According to the actor, the production process for the season is already nearing completion, so it is only a few steps away from finally hitting our screens.
No release date has been announced yet, but until now it was expected that Reacher season 3 wouldn't be released until late 2024 or early 2025 at the earliest.
However, with this new update on the state of the series, the chances of the third season of the series being released before the end of this year have increased significantly.
Fans Hope Season 3 Will Fix Season 2's Mistakes
Still, many fans hope that the show's creators have taken into account the criticism that season 2 faced and will avoid the elements that tainted its reception quite a bit, such as questionable writing and the forced atmosphere of camaraderie.
To be fair, much of this was due to the nature of the source material, as Bad Luck and Trouble, the novel on which season 2 was based, was quite different in tone from the rest of the Jack Reacher books.
Fortunately, the signs are now pointing to a change for the better, as season 3 will be based on one of the best novels in the series, Persuader, which is much closer to the first season of the series that almost everyone loved.
