Rachel Zegler Sends Cryptic Message on The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes Sequel
Rachel Zegler had a very peculiar way to answer the probably most demanded question.
Summary:
- After The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes huge success last year fans are wondering if there may be another sequel to the story.
- Rachel Zegler, who played the main character Lucy Gray Baird in the film, admits she has no idea about a second movie by quoting a famous song that appears in the film.
- Judging by the film’s good performance in the box office, there may be a chance for the creators to expand the story.
The Hunger Games franchise has been keeping devoted fans on the outlook ever since the last part of the story, Mockingjay — Part 2, hit the cinemas in 2015. When Suzanne Collins, the author of the original book trilogy, announced a prequel coming soon, there was no doubt at all that it would also turn into yet another successful film.
Now that The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes film is already released and got a lot of fans’ attention and money, one of its biggest stars, Rachel Zegler who portrayed the Hunger Games tribute from District 12 Lucy Gray Baird, is the first person to ask whether there may be a sequel for the already existing one.
In an interview with Deadline, Rachel found quite an interesting way to answer the omnipresent question — she confessed that the final decision wouldn’t depend on her, but then quoted Olivia Rodrigo’s song that appears in the film itself rephrasing lines and saying that Lucy Gray “is in the trees, she’s in the breeze”.
Rachel also shared her thoughts on her heroine’s fate — the detail that also kept fans wondering as the movie itself doesn’t specify whether Lucy Gray stays alive at the end or not. The actress herself believes that her character is definitely alive and there may be something else that’s going to happen to her after the film events.
Even though a possibility of another sequel still remains a mystery, the creators are probably coming up with something right now given how well The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes showed itself in the box office last year.
The plot of the film takes place several decades before the original trilogy events and follows young President Snow’s cruel path towards obtaining power. The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is available on Prime Video and Apple TV, but only for rent and purchase.
